Calendar of Events

 There is the walking rally on this Sunday the 20th, there will be 20 of us in total.  We meet at the Mill at 10.00 and go to Lords for Lunch at 12.00.  The lunch will start at 12.30.

 Next Monday, the 21st, we have a speaker, Barbara Warner, a job talk form our newest member Derek Govey and the induction of Michael Hoy, so I expect you all to be smartly dressed.

 On the 28th we have feedback from James Dingle of Deans School, he went on an educational trip to Namibia, partly sponsored by us.

 The DG’s visit is on the 12th October, another time to be smartly dressed, and the 26th October is a Paupers Night.

On the 31st October we are going to do a leaflet promotion in support of the Startime 09 concert at the Towngate theatre in Basildon.  We have applied for a licence to do this in Basildon Town Square, NOT EASTGATE.  We have said in the licence application we will have five people doing form 10.00 till 12.00hrs and another five doing from 12.00 till 14.00 hrs.

 

Dave Pitchford is organising a ten Pin Bowling night on the 18th November.  The cost for bowling and food is £10 per person, so please let him know if you and your friends would like to attend.

 

On the 14th November Howard is organising clean/re-vamp of the Rotary Train in preparation for the Christmas Lights turn on in Rayleigh.  He has the volunteers he needs but if you feel the urge to offer extra help please let him know, I’m sure any offer will be most welcome.  I have applied for a collection licence for this night but I don’t know if we will get one.



8th November   Startime 09 at the Towngate Theatre Basildon
19th December  The Club will be holding a street collection in Rayleigh.
Thames Barge Cruise. John Fairweather is looking at the cost and will see if we can combine with the 41 Club to keep individual costs down.
Ten Pin Bowling. Carl Watson is now undertaking the organising of this event.
